PPA Partners, LLC was founded by two long time renewable energy proponents, Mark Weiss and Bruce Mercy. The focus of the company was on consulting and financing in renewable energy. Both Mr. Weiss and Mr. Mercy had extensive backgrounds in solar project business development and project management but felt that there was a missing link in the knowledge chain that left commercial real estate developers, contractors and architects lacking the knowledge on how to implement the right technology solution into their projects at the onset of development and design.
In January, 2009 we felt the market was right to increase our focus on PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) financing due to the hardship of financing solar and wind projects during the economic downturn. We changed our name to PPA Partners, LLC to better reflect what is now our core business model, PPA Financial Modeling and Renewable Energy Project Financing.
We continue to consult in the disciplines of solar PV, CSP and CPV as well as wind, hydrogen fuel cell and emerging technologies such as wave and current. We are vendor and technology agnostic and thus can design a solution without any bias for the the type of technology recommended; our sole motivation is to get you the right technology, at the right price, on your timeline.
We have developed a number of projects within Arizona, New Jersey and California. Most recently, we have signed Power Purchase Agreements on 8 MW of solar projects that include multiple megawatts of monocrystalline, polycrystalline, thin film and CPV in Arizona. And, we have 5 MW nearing construction completion at Arizona Western College in Yuma, AZ
